Gear Hire

Gear hire is available only to NZ Alpine Club members. All enquiries for gear should email gear@aucklandclimber.org.nz with a photo of their current membership card, a list of the gear you are looking to hire from the list below along with pick up and drop off dates.

Booking: Bookings need to be submitted before 7PM Tuesday.

Pricing: Each item is $12 per weekend.

Available gear: Crampons, Ice Axes, Transceivers, Shovels and Probes.

Pick-up: The Wednesday night prior or by arrangement.

Return: Wednesday night, or by arrangement. Otherwise $10/day extra charges apply for each item.

Notes

  • For larger groups, please arrange the hire gear through one person and do one pick up and drop off.

  • A bond of $50 per order is to be paid as well as the hire cost and will be refunded when item is returned in good and clean condition.

  • The phone number for our gear hire coordinator will be provided on the order confirmation or they can be contacted on gear@aucklandclimber.org.nz

  • Batteries are NOT provided with avalanche transceivers. Make sure to check that the transceiver is working.
